Neben dieser Sprache der Tarnung waren zahlreiche Kompromisse und Zugeständisse an die Nationalsozialisten nötig, um die Existenz der Zeitung nicht zu gefährden.
Diese Zugeständnisse werten einige Wissenschaftler als Korruption und führen an, die FZ habe trotz der Camouflage dem Regime eher genützt als geschadet. Auch wird oft in Zweifel gezogen, dass die Taten der FZ überhaupt als Widerstand bezeichnet werden können. Andere argumentieren, die Konsequenz, statt Kompromisse einzugehen, das Blatt zu schließen, sei absurd. In einer Diktatur gelte jegliches nicht erwünschtes Verhalten als Widerstand.
Diese Kontroverse soll im Rahmen der vorliegenden Hausarbeit näher beleuchtet werden.
